Clicking away from a citation comment saves it. If saving fails, the editor keeps your draft so you can correct it or try again.

Problem

Dismissing the popover discarded unsaved comments. Losing the cited source also closed the editor, even when the comment was too long or the composer rejected the save.

Fix

Save changed drafts on dismissal; keep Escape and Cancel as explicit discard actions. If the source disappears and the draft cannot be saved, keep the editor mounted and anchor it to the citation's pencil button.

Validation: 33 focused tests, web typecheck, targeted lint, and independent code review passed. New regression tests fail against the previous implementation. Existing visual evidence retained; no new browser verification for the source-disappearance follow-up.
