Build 97's widgets and Live Activities cannot render because Expo UI calls React.memo, which Expo Widgets 58.0.9 does not provide in its isolated runtime. The SDK's recommended package versions have moved ahead as well.

Upgrade Expo to 58.0.2 and its recommended package set, including Expo UI and Expo Widgets 58.0.11. This adopts the upstream runtime fix from expo/expo#50834, first released in Expo Widgets 58.0.10, and removes our duplicate memo patch. Carry forward the remaining audio, blur, sharing, and widget patches to their new package versions. Exclude the repo's intentionally selected TypeScript compiler from Expo's version recommendation check.

Validation:

  • expo install --check passes. React Native and React versions remain at the SDK 58 versions already on main.
  • Mobile typecheck and 72 focused widget/registration tests pass.
  • Both iOS and Android widget runtime bundles build and initialize. The installed React stub matches the published upstream package exactly.
  • Rebuilt and installed the iOS native client on an iOS 26.5 simulator. The usage widget renders; Live Activity creation and updates work with staleDate, and the updated content renders on the Lock Screen.

The simulator verification uses fixture data through a temporary diagnostic screen, exercising the real native factories and extension rendering. It bypasses the normal thread-start and relay-registration path; physical-device relay/APNs delivery remains unverified. The screen is not included in the change.

A new native build is required. OTA updates cannot replace the extension runtime. Expo displays the red error box only in DEBUG builds; TestFlight renders the same error node as an empty view.

Presentation Before: main After: upstream Expo releases
Subscription usage Before: widget runtime initialization error After: session and weekly quotas render
Live Activity Before: Live Activity runtime initialization error After: updated content renders on the Lock Screen

Approvability

Verdict: Approved at 5f8beb9

Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — This is a focused mobile dependency-alignment fix that moves existing widget and Live Activity paths onto the upstream Expo 58 runtime fix, with accompanying lockfile and patch-registration updates. It adds no product-default change, schema or infrastructure change, or static-analysis suppression.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

Live Activity environment data now includes rendering-mode and Liquid Glass availability fields. Banner and Dynamic Island layouts are evaluated in their rendered views. Added tests exercise bundled widget output, and the layout-registry script now compares real paths.

Changes

Live Activity rendering

Layer / File(s) Summary
Live Activity environment data
patches/expo-widgets@58.0.9.patch
The environment type adds optional rendering-mode and Liquid Glass fields. iOS supplies the rendering mode and sets Liquid Glass availability to true on iOS 26 or later.
Per-view layout evaluation
patches/expo-widgets@58.0.9.patch
Banner and Dynamic Island views build layout nodes using their own environments. WidgetLiveActivity passes the activity context and section name instead of parent-built nodes.
Bundled widget rendering checks
patches/expo-widgets@58.0.9.patch, scripts/mobile-widget-runtime.test.ts
The React stub exports an identity memo function. The tests build and run the iOS bundle, then check Live Activity and subscription-usage output.

Layout registry entry-point check

Layer / File(s) Summary
Real-path entry-point comparison
patches/expo-widgets@58.0.9.patch
The layout-registry script compares the real paths of the invoked script and __filename before running main.

Merges origin/main (6c8fed3) into t3code/codex-turn-mapping (3eaae44).
The previous sync (pingdotgg#14668) was squash-merged, so V2 already holds main's
content up to a3abb52 without the merge parent. This merge was built with
`git merge-tree --merge-base=a3abb52660`, so only the 15 commits in
a3abb52..6c8fed3 apply and nothing already synced re-conflicts.
No new migrations on main.

Brings in pingdotgg#14673 (batched GitHub GraphQL polling), pingdotgg#13926 (beta Working
section), pingdotgg#14678 (update providers on every machine), pingdotgg#14674, pingdotgg#13426,
pingdotgg#14700, pingdotgg#14675, pingdotgg#14601, pingdotgg#14532, pingdotgg#14756, pingdotgg#14734 (Expo 58 update), the 1.4.0
mobile version bump, pingdotgg#12615, pingdotgg#14367 and pingdotgg#14710.

V1 files V2 deleted (kept deleted):
- orchestration/PullRequestSyncReactor(.test).ts and
  orchestration/ThreadPullRequestReactor.ts: pingdotgg#14673's reactor batching.
Git matched them to V2's orchestration-v2/PullRequestSyncReactor(.test).ts
and ThreadPullRequestService.ts, so the change landed there: one queued
"requested" sweep reads a burst of requestSync keys together, a summary
that places a PR in no stack skips the stack read, and a stack-number
change in the summary triggers a stack refresh. Main's two new reactor
tests merged into V2's test file and use V2's harness as-is.
- web ChatMarkdown.workspace-images.test.tsx: V2 removed it in 894f6c4.
pingdotgg#12615 added Windows-path cases there; the link case is ported into V2's
ChatMarkdown.test.tsx "Windows file links" block. The image-resource
cases depend on that file's asset mocks and are not ported.

Content conflicts:
- orchestration-v2/PullRequestSyncReactor.ts: main's sweep(scope) signature
  over V2's projections.getThreadsWithPullRequests() read.
- orchestration-v2/ThreadPullRequestService.ts: main's concurrency 32 (was
  V2's 25), so a sweep's branch lookups reach GitHubCli's 50-wide GraphQL
  document together.
- chat/ChatHeader.tsx: kept V2's slim header (f71e6a2); main's
header-actions block is not in V2. pingdotgg#13426's ChatView half (the maximize
control leaves the flex flow when closed) is applied to V2's panel
  controls in ChatView.tsx.
- Sidebar.logic(.test).ts, Sidebar.tsx: pingdotgg#13926 on V2's sidebar model.
isSidebarThreadWorking folds V2's "working" and "waiting" (idle with open
background tasks, main's "monitoring") statuses, minus a ready plan.
sortInboxThreadsByReturn reads latestRun instead of latestTurn. V2's
  subagent filter, section resolver and CollapsibleSectionHeader stay;
the Working header uses the muted tone. Main's status tests are rewritten
  on V2's runtime fixture.
- settings/SettingsPanels.tsx, settingsSearch.ts, docs/user/thread-sidebar.md:
both sides (V2's limited-thread rows and title docs, main's Working
  section row and docs).

pingdotgg#14678 uses the existing server.updateProvider RPC, which V2's ws.ts
serves through providerMaintenanceRunner, so no server change is needed.

aorwall added a commit to aorwall/t3code that referenced this pull request Oct 3, 2026
Merges upstream `pingdotgg/t3code` up to `024d49520`: 12 commits from
base `20012ebd8`. **This deliberately stops short of `upstream/main`
(`4f7760e6a`).**

## Why it stops at `024d49520`

The next upstream commit, `de3439142` (pingdotgg#2829 "introduce new
orchestrator", 1,907 files), deletes
`packages/contracts/src/orchestration.ts` and client-runtime
`threadReducer.ts` and replaces them with `orchestrationV2.ts`. The
`orchestration.*` RPC method names stay the same, but every command,
event, shell and thread payload is a new schema. `crates/t3code` on
Moatless `main` has no V2 support, so merging it would ship a client
that cannot decode anything the backend sends. It would also remove the
anchors for five fork deltas: Message Origin, Thread Fork, Thread
Visibility, Thread Follow and Thread Owner Name. `docs/fork/gaps.md` now
has an entry for this, with what closes it and what to re-point.
**Merging past it needs a person to decide: V2 support in the backend,
or a client adapter.** Until that happens, every later upstream commit
waits behind it, the web-only fixes included.

## Merge

- Conflicts: none. Landed 41 files against 41 in the upstream range
(exact match); fork delta 756 files.
- `pnpm-lock.yaml` re-derived with `install.mjs`; the fork's edges are
present.
- `verify.mjs` (full run): all 10 checks passed (duplicate-adds,
tripwires, resolution-check, unsupported-methods, lockfile, fmt, lint,
typecheck, build, test).
- Unsupported methods: no ADD, no DROP.

## Feature classification

**Usable as-is**
- Composer undo groups the way the Lexical composer did (pingdotgg#14674,
`composer-undo-grouping.ts`)
- Markdown keeps Windows paths intact in link and image destinations
(pingdotgg#12615, `ChatMarkdown.tsx`; the mermaid delta still applies)
- Desktop dark-mode markdown pages no longer render invisible (pingdotgg#14601)
- Mobile: Expo 58 update, the Android thread crash fix, project picker
fixes, version bumps (pingdotgg#14734, pingdotgg#14850, pingdotgg#14532, pingdotgg#14756)
- Removed unused cloud/terminal debug flags (pingdotgg#14367); release v0.0.45;
triage skill docs (pingdotgg#14852)

**Unsupported in Moatless / needs implementation**
- None in the merged range. Orchestrator V2 (`de3439142`) is outside it;
see above.

**Backend behavior to consider reproducing in Moatless**
- pingdotgg#13295 `apps/server/src/orchestration/Layers/OrchestrationEngine.ts`:
when reconciling, republish only the events this dispatch itself
appended. Otherwise a second server sharing a state directory restarts
provider turns another server already handled. Added to the gaps
register's "Runtime fixes" entry.
