A new-thread draft can switch machines from its machine menu, but there was no keyboard shortcut to step through machines.

  • iPad: Cmd+Shift+H with a hardware keyboard moves the draft to the next machine. It appears in the iPad shortcut overlay as "Next Machine". Mobile has no host menu for that key to open, so on mobile it means "next machine".
  • Android: Ctrl+Shift+H with a hardware keyboard does the same.
  • Web and desktop: a new composer.cycleHost command with no default key, so mod+shift+h still opens the machine menu and nothing new is bound. Users who prefer cycling can bind Composer: Cycle Host in Keybindings. It goes through the same switch as ChatView's machine menu.

On every client it steps from the machine a pending switch is heading to, so pressing it repeatedly keeps advancing while a "No project" folder is still being prepared.

On mobile, the machine switch moved from the environment picker into the new-task flow as switchEnvironment, so the picker and the shortcut share it. For a draft without a project it opens the destination machine's "No project" folder first, and the newest switch wins.

Verification

  • Web: keybinding and Keybindings settings tests pass (including that composer.cycleHost is listed without a default), typecheck passes, and ChatView lint matches main.
  • Mobile: a table test for picking the next machine passes and typecheck passes. Lint adds one warning: react(memo-dependencies) calls an entry in switchEnvironment's dependency list extra, but it moves to another entry when that one is removed, and every listed value is used.
  • Native: SwiftLint, ktlint and detekt pass. The Swift change type-checks against the iOS 27.1 simulator SDK with a stub for Expo's module types. Cmd+Shift+H is not an iPadOS system shortcut.
  • Not run in a real client or on a device. Native builds are needed for the iPad and Android keys to take effect.

Implemented with Claude Opus 5.5 through Claude Code in T3 Code.

Approvability

Verdict: Not approved

Macroscope's review found this PR not approvable — This PR adds built-in iOS and Android machine-cycling shortcuts and rewires mobile draft switching around asynchronous scratch-folder creation, making it a cross-platform behavior change rather than a self-contained tweak. Unresolved medium-severity findings also identify race conditions in rapid switching and project selection.

A new composer.cycleHost shortcut cycles through available environments in an unlocked draft thread. The shortcut uses mod+alt+h, and cycling starts from the pending destination during an environment switch.

Avoid the macOS Hide Others shortcut for composer.cycleHost.

On macOS, mod+alt+h is Option–Command–H, the Hide Others shortcut. When ChatView resolves composer.cycleHost but the draft is locked, absent, or has only one environment, the handler returns without preventing the key event. Hide Others can therefore run outside eligible multi-machine drafts.

Startup sync writes defaults to a new keybindings file and can append this default to an existing valid file. Removing the default later does not remove a persisted entry. Ship without this default or choose a different shortcut; mod+shift+h already opens the machine picker.

Rapid cycleHost presses can select the same host twice, so two presses advance the draft only one host instead of two. Because setSwitchingToEnvironmentId is asynchronous, both keyboard events read the same render-time switchingToEnvironmentId before this request updates it; the second call then supersedes the first through latestSwitchRef. Track and expose the pending destination synchronously so each press computes the next host from the latest request.

A completed openScratch request can retarget the draft to its original scratch destination after the user has selected a different project while the request is pending. The success path only checks latestSwitchRef, which project selection does not invalidate, so setProject(result.value) overwrites the user's newer choice; verify that the environment and project selection are unchanged before applying the result.

Adds composer.cycleHost, bound to mod+alt+h outside the terminal. In a
draft that can run on more than one machine it moves to the next one.
It steps from the machine a pending switch is heading to, so repeated
presses keep advancing while a "No project" folder is being prepared.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
Cmd+Option+H on iPad and Ctrl+Alt+H on Android move a new-thread draft
to the next machine, matching mod+alt+h on web and desktop. The switch
now lives in the new-task flow as switchEnvironment, shared by the
environment picker and the shortcut; for a draft without a project it
opens the destination machine's "No project" folder first, and the
newest switch wins.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
On iPad (Cmd+Shift+H) and Android (Ctrl+Shift+H) the host shortcut now
moves a new-thread draft to the next machine; mobile has no host menu to
open. Web and desktop keep composer.cycleHost but ship it unbound, so
mod+shift+h still opens the machine menu and the macOS Hide Others chord
stays free. Users who prefer cycling can bind it in Keybindings.

* fix(server): Claude limits load again for users with large transcript histories (pingdotgg#16358)

* chore(contracts): take the Moatless V2 backend into the upstream merge

Regenerate the threads.getShell fixture as a V2 row, decode it as the RPC
layer does, drop four UnsupportedMethodError entries the V2 backend now
serves, and reconcile docs/fork/gaps.md with soaplabs/moatless#1068.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* test(contracts): decode a Moatless V2 thread projection fixture

The fixture comes from the moatless feat/t3code-v2-timeline-and-sessions
branch and holds every timeline item kind it translates tool calls into,
its plans, and the provider rows that let a client steer a running turn.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* ci: run the contracts tests in the Typecheck workflow

Its Moatless fixtures are the one check that a backend response decodes
against the schemas the client reads, and the package is small enough for
the 4 CPU / 8 GiB runner.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* ci: run the contracts tests before the typecheck

The runner loses contact during pnpm typecheck, which skipped the
fixture decodes queued after it.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* test(contracts): decode the V2 projection's node rows

Regenerated from soaplabs/moatless#1071 at ed50318e, which backs every
rootNodeId and nodeId with a node row.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* docs(fork): narrow the V2 gap to what moatless#1071 still refuses
