Port of sourceful-hugin's fronius.lua to the forty-two-watts v2.1 Lua host idiom. Read-only driver for Fronius Symo/Primo GEN24 hybrid inverters over Modbus TCP (SunSpec). The hugin driver leaned on host.decode_f32 and host.scale, which 42W's host does not expose. Both are now inlined: IEEE 754 single-precision decoding via bit-math on the two u16 registers (big-endian word order), and SunSpec int16 scale factors applied with 10^sf / 10^-sf. Also swaps host.log(msg) for host.log(level, msg) and host.decode_u32/i32 for the _be variants — matches the v2.1 API. Emits pv (with MPPT + lifetime + temp + rated_w), battery (w/v/soc derived from charge/discharge-rate percents × max charge power), and a meter-shaped emission derived from AC values so per-phase data shows up in the TSDB. Sign flip at the boundary: dc_w → -dc_w for PV; discharge_rate drives bat_w negative, charge_rate drives it positive. Scalar diagnostics (MPPT V/A, heatsink temp, grid Hz, per-phase V/A/W, battery DC V) land in the long-format TSDB via emit_metric. Device identity anchors on Fronius SunSpec Common block serial number (holding register 40052, 16 regs / 32 chars); falls back to mac/endpoint when the gateway doesn't expose the common block. Control is intentionally a stub — Fronius GEN24 battery control needs the Modbus-control licence and is out of scope here. Verified: make e2e + go test ./internal/drivers/ + catalog entry parses (id=fronius, name="Fronius GEN24", protocols=[modbus], capabilities=[meter,pv,battery]). meter.w is currently set to ac_w, which is inverter AC output rather than net grid import/export, even though the comment says this block is not a grid-side meter. The control path reads the configured is_site_meter value as the grid feedback signal (go/internal/control/dispatch.go), and config validation requires at least one site meter, so Fronius-only (or misassigned) setups will run dispatch against the wrong signal and command batteries in the wrong direction.
