Problem

The native new-thread workspace row stayed at the viewport edge while the composer centered on wider displays. Fixed width caps also truncated “New worktree” and branch labels despite available space, especially with larger text.

Change

Render the draft controls inside the composer's existing centered width constraint. Let the workspace label take its natural width and the branch control shrink to the space that remains. This keeps the shared iOS/Android row responsive without adding resize measurements or state.

Scope and approval

A small, focused fix for an obvious layout defect in existing native draft controls, eligible under the focused bug-fix exception. The workspace toggle and branch picker retain their existing behavior. Web/desktop use a separate layout; provider adapters, contracts, agent entry points, and connection behavior are outside this change. This visual adjustment does not require a documentation update.

Verification

• vp run check:changed passed: formatting, lint, knip, and affected-package typechecks. Lint reported existing warnings in the touched files.
• Used isolated demo fixtures and drove one device at a time. Checked New worktree, Current checkout, the branch picker, and keyboard-open layouts.
• Android foldable: folded/unfolded, with 1.3× system text. “New worktree” and “From main (remote)” remain readable; long branch labels use the available width and truncate only when necessary.
• iPhone 18 Pro: expanded composer with the keyboard open.
• iPhone Duo: captured the outer 466×678 and inner 951×669 viewports with the keyboard open. The fold command changed the active display, but its hinge-telemetry verification is unavailable in this Xcode/CoreDevice toolchain; viewport dimensions and screenshots confirmed both display sizes.
• iPad Pro 13-inch: portrait 1032×1376 and landscape 1376×1032, with the keyboard open.
