Reject future recorded dates.
If an entry sets recorded to 2099-01-01 and expires to 2099-02-01, both dates pass these checks today. The checker then accepts the yanked crate for decades, despite the intended 60-day limit. Reject recorded dates after TODAY, and add a future-date fixture to the self-test.

Three changes that together turn the security audit green on
main:wasmtimegoes to 49.0.4,calamineandzipmove to theirzip 9releases, and three "unmaintained" notices that sit behind an opt-in CLI feature are recorded with an expiry.maincurrently failscargo auditwith 18 vulnerabilities. This branch clears all of them; the audit exits 0 with the existing flags (--deny yanked --deny unmaintained).1. wasmtime 49.0.2 → 49.0.4
wasmtime-wasi(-0352): renaming a symlink whose name ends in a slash escapes the directory a guest was given. It is listed for macOS and FreeBSD hosts only, and the plugin host preopens no directory (runtime::build_store), so a plugin has nothing to escape from. The other twelve are inwasmtime, mostly host panics in the component-model and async paths.br_tablejumps to the wrong target); it is listed for aarch64 only. The
"49"requirement in the rootCargo.tomlalready permits the patch, so no manifest changed for this part:Cargo.lockmoveswasmtime*,wasmtime-internal-*,pulley-*,wiggle*and thecranelift-*crates the release pins to.The host runs plugins synchronously as
wasm32-wasip1modules, which keeps it away from most of those paths. I have not established for each advisory whether a plugin can reach it, and the sandbox is what they are about, so this does not wait on that.2. calamine 0.36 → 0.37 and zip 8.6 → 9
zip8.6.0 carries RUSTSEC-2026-0367, -0368 and -0369 (symlink and permission handling while extracting an archive; fixed from 9.0.0). calamine was what heldzipat 8.x: 0.36.1 requireszip ^8.6. calamine 0.37.0 (released 2026-10-18; upstream tafia/calamine#741) moves tozip ^9.0.dpp-integrator's ownzipdependency moves with it (8.6 → 9, resolving to 9.0.5). It is version-matched to calamine's on purpose, so the build keeps a singlezipfor the XLSX bomb pre-scan.crates/,cli/orplugins/callsextract. Whether calamine's own use ofziptouches those paths is not checked.ZipFile::namenow returns aResult.precheck_xlsxrefuses an entry whose name cannot be read, as it does for every other entry error, rather than skipping it (skipping would leave that entry's XML unscanned). Inzip9.0.5 that case cannot occur, because a name that is not valid UTF-8 is decoded as CP437 instead.a_non_utf8_entry_name_does_not_dodge_the_scanpins the behaviour that matters: such an entry is still classified and scanned. I confirmed the test fails when the worksheet classification is lost.zip9 adds one new transitive dependency, nix.cargo deny check bans licenses sourcespasses with it.Dependabot's #465 (
zip9.0.1 alone) is superseded: on its own it leaves calamine onzip8.6.0, so the build would carry twozipversions.3. Three "unmaintained" notices, recorded
zbus_names,zvariantandzvariant_derive(RUSTSEC-2026-0371, -0370, -0372, published 2026-10-16) were merged intozbus6.0.0. They are not vulnerabilities. They reach this workspace only through the CLI's opt-indesktopfeature (rfd→ashpd→zbus), which is off by default; CI names features per package so that it stays out, andcargo auditreports them only because it scans the whole lockfile. They are entries in
.cargo/audit.tomlwith the repository's structured header (class: not-in-graph), soscripts/check-audit-register.shre-checks the claim on every run: the crates must be absent from both the default graph and the shipped node build. The entries expire on 2027-01-18 and are void ifdesktopbecomes a default feature. The way out isrfd0.17, which no longer depends onashpdorzbus; it is not a drop-in (thetokiofeature is gone and the backend changed), so it is left for its own change. Not in this change
An earlier revision of this branch added a yanked-crate register (
scripts/check-yanked.sh) to toleratezip8.6.0 while calamine pinned it. calamine 0.37 makes that unnecessary, so it is removed, along with its register file, its self-test and its CI steps; thejustfileand both workflows are back to theirmainform.Checked
just checkexits 0 on this commit: 1493 unit tests pass (3 skipped), the register is current, andcargo auditandcargo denyare clean.just lint-integration: green.cargo nextest run -p dpp-plugin-host --features wasm-fixture-tests: 64 of 64.cargo nextest run -p dpp-plugin-host --features integration-tests: 71 of 71.just test-integration(the Docker tiers): 327 of 327.After this merges
The other open pull requests need their branches updated from
main. #479 also changesCargo.lock, so it will conflict and be rebased ontomain's lock file.
