…POST too safe_get checked the host at lookup and let requests resolve it again at the dial; the body was read whole with no cap; remote_text_encoder POSTed with requests.post, following redirects unchecked and with no timeout (review 2026-10-07 #3/#4). Both pre-date develop. Manual TLS check (untrusted posture, pinned dial): safe_get("https://example.com/", "a check", timeout=15) -> 200 577 (pinned to 104.20.23.154; SNI + cert checked on example.com) requests.get("https://104.20.23.154/") unpinned -> SSLError (cert check on the IP literal fails, so the pool kwargs are what verify it) Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
