Parked. Do not merge. This is the cosmetic sign-in page (commit e9f5d92, csv-table-hub-main/src/routes/auth.tsx only). There is no auth backend behind it: submit just routes to /. The API only has X-API-Key auth (see BUG-006/035). Wire a real login endpoint before merging.

• The branch is 27 commits behind main. It needs a merge from main before it could be merged.
• The README (3 lines) and QUICKSTART (2 lines) edits listed in Decide: uncommitted sign-in changes (auth.tsx, README, QUICKSTART) #47 are not on this branch and are no longer in the local working tree. If they mattered, check git stash list.

Closing as superseded by #115. The old cosmetic sign-in page parked here was never wired to a backend. #115 replaced it with real per-user sign-in: /auth signs in against /api/auth/login, every page requires a session, and the browser no longer holds the API key. The branch wip/cosmetic-sign-in is kept until you delete it.
