Friend's Bot settings sheet: Escape doesn't close it, sidebar stays shifted/clipped after opening, Remove this Bot sits in the Auto-send box #274

Summary

The friend's Bot settings sheet does not close on Escape. After it opens, the sidebar stays shifted left and clipped, even after the sheet closes. The destructive Remove this Bot sits right under the Auto-send toggle in the same small bordered box.

Environment

• FlyBot main ab723ac (after fix(ui): + menu is a popover next to +; one Copy invite entry; 6 digits room hint (#173) #265), core + plugins/social + plugins/tree on @deepseek-ai/dsh@0.2.0-rc.2, Node 24.
• Two fresh installs on one Linux box: A :3090 (owner SelfA1220, @selfa1220.home) and B :3091 (owner SelfB1220, @selfb1220.home). Bot Social https://47-80-69-220.sslip.io.
• Both Chiefs on ark/deepseek-v4-flash (real model).
• A's Chief is shared with B through a per-Bot invite (grant grt_01M56M32HBPKTGVE0G51AM23C4, grantee @chief.selfb1220.home). B joined with its Chief as the talk-through Bot. B's Chief is not shared back (by design, Per-Bot grants leak: accepting a Helper invite exposes the joiner's Chief; face-room Chief shows in Friends' Bots; Manage access wrong/raw #138/Regression of #138: joining a friend's invite still puts the joiner's Chief on the inviter's main list #161).
• Scheduled product self-test, focus A (friend DM), browser run 2026-10-18 12:27–12:31 Asia/Shanghai. Screenshots stayed on the test machine; what they show is written out below.

Repro

1. On B, hover SelfA1220's Chief in the sidebar and click its gear.
2. Press Escape.
3. Close the sheet with ✕ and look at the sidebar.

Actual

• Escape does nothing. The sheet stays open.
• Once the sheet has opened, B's sidebar is shifted left and stays clipped: the FlyBot logo and the row avatars are cut off at the left edge. This stays after the sheet is closed. Screenshot: sidebar with the logo and avatars cut at the left edge.
• The sheet shows Chief / SelfA1220 / @chief.selfa1220.home, then a bordered box with Auto-send to SelfA1220 (tooltip "Don't ask each time.", off by default, correct) and Remove this Bot directly below it, in the same box.

Expected

• Escape closes the sheet, like other dialogs (Social UI polish round 3: truncation, duplicate Add friend/Accept invite, Manage access depth, wording (#166 follow-up) #173 says Escape closes the Add friend panel and dialogs).
• Opening or closing a sheet never moves or clips the sidebar.
• docs/subsystems/social.md: "Friend Bot details overview is Auto-send plus a muted Remove this Bot link (not a primary button)." Keep the destructive link visually separate from the toggle (its own row or spacing, outside the toggle's box), so it is not one slip away from the setting people actually change.

Code notes (ab723ac, not verified)

• core/src/client/remote-bot-settings.js L30 does call useEscape(close), so the handler exists. Escape only calls the newest layer on the escapeLayers stack (overlay-hooks.js L9). A layer pushed after the sheet, or one that was never popped, would swallow the key. I did not identify the cause.
• The sidebar shift looks like layout or scroll left behind by the portal sheet (overlays.js L52, document.body portal). Cause not identified.
