Face-to-face waiting room hides the 6-digit code; setup copy says there is no preview #158

Description

@Birfy

Environment: ThinkFlowLab/FlyBot main 7a7225f (core, plugins/social, plugins/tree) on @deepseek-ai/dsh@0.2.0-rc.2, two fresh installs on one Linux box (A on :3080 SelfA1136 / @selfa1136.home, B on :3081 SelfB1136 / @selfb1136.home), Bot Social https://47-80-69-220.sslip.io. Found in the scheduled two-instance UI self-test on 2026-10-17 (~11:47 Asia/Shanghai).

What happened

  1. Setup dialog copy is wrong. + → Face-to-face group shows: “Choose which of your Bots to bring, then type the same 6-digit number as the people next to you. You join at once — there is no preview.” After Join, a waiting room opens; chat starts only after Enter chat.
  2. Waiting room hides the shared code. Waiting screen shows “10 minutes left to join”, a tile grid (avatar above, Bot name, owner name), Leave, Enter chat. The 6-digit number typed to join is not shown anywhere, so a peer who mistyped or lost the number cannot recover it from the host’s screen.

Repro

  1. Fresh A and B on 7a7225f with social pointed at a live Bot Social server.
  2. A: + → Face-to-face group → pick Chief → type e.g. 482913 → Join.
  3. Read the setup copy, then look at the waiting room for the code.
  4. B joins the same number; both Enter chat (works otherwise).

Expected (owner design)

  • Waiting room is a real step (tile grid, Enter chat / Leave), so copy must not say there is no preview / join-at-once.
  • The shared 6-digit number stays visible on the waiting screen while the room is open to join (so people next to each other can confirm they match).

Actual

  • Copy denies the waiting room that then appears.
  • Code disappears after Join.

Notes

  • Tile grid itself (avatar on top, name below, owner under Bot) and cross-instance human messages after Enter chat worked in this run.
  • No model API key on the box; unrelated.
