Restore main/dev ancestry before the next protected promotion. This merges the previous main promotion commit into the current dev history. The resulting tree is identical to dev: no source, settings, package version or data changes.
Use a merge commit, not squash, to retain ancestry. CI is still required. No production deployment or npm publishing is performed by this synchronization PR.
