Track: 0.21.0 on macOS (desktop build, recording formats, VideoToolbox) #786
Nothing in 0.21.0 has been built or run on macOS. The new features lean on parts that differ there, so each needs a look on a real Mac before the release.
To check
The desktop app builds (scripts/macos/make-app.sh, make-dmg.sh) with the 0.21.0 Rust shell, and starts on Apple Silicon and Intel.
Save dialog and Show in folder after a Performance export (reveal_saved in desktop/src-tauri/src/main.rs).
Camera and microphone permission prompts when Performance asks for them. This branch adds desktop/src-tauri/src/mediaperm.rs, Info.plist usage descriptions and Entitlements.plist (verified in the diff against v0.20.0); none of it has run on a Mac.
Recording in WKWebView: which container and codec MediaRecorder produces for a Performance take, and whether the server can render it.
The shipped macOS ffmpeg: which H.264 encoders it has, and whether VideoToolbox passes scripts/encoder_matrix.py.
A full Performance take and export: picture and sound in sync, and the file plays in QuickTime.
Karaoke Mode fullscreen in WKWebView (the Fullscreen API may be refused; a layer over the window is the fallback).
The Mode menu, the Stems popover and Settings at the macOS default window size.
The Gatekeeper callout is first in the release notes.
Constraints
A change to the Rust shell changes the binary, which desktop-update-gate treats as a reason for a full download. A uv.lock change does the same.
Anything visible needs a Guide entry and the sentence in all ten tables of i18n.js.
