[Bug]: Behavior of Library, Queue & Trash #772

Closed

Description

@wastedbits

Before reporting

  • I'm on the latest release and the issue still happens.
  • I searched existing issues and didn't find a duplicate.

What happened?

I added a 3 songs sequentially for extraction --
Upload Song1 Click Extract,
Upload Song2 Click Extract,
Upload Song3 Click Extract

Here are my observations

1st Bug:
Let me start by saying the Queue show the file order in the same sequence as they were added, with Song1 first then Song2 then Song3....just like a Queue should. But the Library shows them as a Stack. Song3 first then Song2, then Song 1.

Solution: Library should also show the same order like a Queue.

2nd Bug
Add the 3 songs to library sequentially as mentioned above. Then delete 1 at a time from the library. They go away from the library and go away from the Queue and appear in Trash. Perfect. Now clear the trash. Add them again sequentially to the library. But this time view the Queue. Now in the Queue delete them 1 by 1.

  1. They get deleted from the queue BUT do not appear in Trash at all.
  2. They get deleted from the Queue for processing but that also deletes the file from the library.

** Solution:**
I feel when items are deleted from the queue, I am only deleting the processing of those songs, unlike deleting from Library when I don't want that song anymore. And therefore when deleting from Queue those songs should remain in the library with the Extract label next to them just like they show when I recover a song from Trash.

Thanks for walking through the three songs step by step. I will look into these for the next release.

    Two changes for 0.21.0.

The Library now lists songs in the order you added them, first song first, the same as the Queue. Songs you already have show in that order too.

Removing a song from the Queue now only stops its extraction. The song stays in the Library with the Extract label, as it does after a restore from the Trash, so you can start it again later. Nothing is deleted. Deleting from the Library still moves the song to the Trash.

If something still looks wrong on 0.21.0, open a new issue with the steps and I will look.
