The now-playing card says nothing about the artist of the track that is playing #704

The problem

When a track is playing, the now-playing card shows a file name, some artwork if there is any, and the waveform below. It says nothing about who the artist is.

Someone practising a song spends a long time with it. The band behind it, where they come from, who plays in it, what else they recorded and where their official pages live are all things a musician would naturally want to know at that moment. Today the only way to find any of it is to leave the app and search by hand.

Why it is not just a lookup box

A search field the user fills in would be easy, and it misses the point. Most people will never type a band name into a practice tool. The information is only useful if it is already there when the track opens.

That means the artist has to be worked out from what the track already carries: its tags, its title, the upload it came from. Those are often noisy, and a wrong answer is worse than no answer. A title like "Metropolis - Part I" once made "Metropolis" the band. Showing a confident history of the wrong artist teaches the user to distrust the whole panel.

Constraints for a fix

• No typing required. The artist is found during import, next to separation. The lookup must never delay a job and must never fail one. If it finds nothing, the job finishes exactly as it does today.
• No weak guesses. An artist is kept only on strong evidence, such as an exact name match against a known entity. When in doubt, show nothing.
• A name the user sets always wins over anything found automatically.
• Privacy is stated, not assumed. Looking an artist up sends the name to public services (Wikidata, Wikipedia). The user has to be told that, in plain words, where the feature lives.
• Offline degrades quietly. No network means no artist box, not an error banner.
• Free sources only. No paid API and no key the project would have to hold.
