[Bug]: stemdeck.api search failed #692

Description

@athleticsfan

Before reporting

  • I'm on the latest release and the issue still happens.
  • I searched existing issues and didn't find a duplicate.

What happened?

The YT search fails with the message, Search failed. Check your connection.
It's happened in every build since 0.17.1, but reverting to 0.17.0 worked perfectly fine.

Entering a YT link works as expected.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open StemDeck
  2. Enter any search terms
  3. Message appears

Operating system

macOS (Apple Silicon)

StemDeck version

0.18.0

How did you install it?

Thanks for the report, @athleticsfan, and for the log. It pointed straight at the cause.

This is fixed in 0.18.1. The trimmed copy of yt-dlp that ships with StemDeck left out the parts that handle searches, so the search box had nothing to run. Pasted links use a different part, which is why they kept working.

On a Mac, updating downloads the new runtime on its own. The builds are finishing now, and each download in the table becomes a link as it lands. Let me know how it goes.
