Hi there, I am Raktim !! 👋

I hold a Ph.D. in Computational and Data Enabled Science and Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo, United States.

My research interests lie at the intersection of data science and biomedical/pharmaceutical sciences. During my doctoral studies in Dr. Marianthi Markatou’s group, I conducted research on statistical machine learning and inference methods to extract knowledge from large and complex data sets. A part of my work is motivated by the search for social determinants of health that can drive better healthcare delivery models, while another focus concentrates on developing methods for identifying safety issues associated with the use of medical products.

BIO
  • 🎓 I recently earned my Ph.D. (December 2025)!
  • 💻 I actively develop and maintain open-source software packages including QuadratiK, SurVigilance, and MDDC, utilizing automation tools like GitHub Actions, Codecov, Ruff, and Black.
  • 🏢 I previously worked as a Research Assistant with Dr. Marianthi Markatou, SUNY Distinguished Professor, and as a Teaching Assistant at UB's School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
  • 🏢 During my master's, I worked at Action Lab, EdPlus, Arizona State University focusing on EdTech, Educational Data Mining, Learning Analytics, and ML Equity Challenges.
  • ⚙️ I use daily: .py, .R, and CI/CD workflows.
