Three docs claims contradict our own source-of-truth pages. AI crawlers read these pages a lot: in the last 30 days, /docs/postgres got 6,286 requests and the Compute pages with the wrong push claim got 1,684 (PromptWatch server logs).

1. Connecting GitHub does not deploy on push

compute/getting-started, faq, limitations and about 20 other lines said that after git connect, pushing a branch builds and deploys it, and that builds detect your framework. compute/github says "a connected repo without a deploy workflow deploys nothing", and compute/deploy-on-push says the deploy workflow (prisma/cloud-deploy-action) deploys a Prisma Composer app and doesn't detect your framework.

  • Getting started now deploys a Composer app first (npm run build, npx prisma deploy module.ts, which creates the project), then links a project, then sets up deploy on push (git connect plus the workflow). The old flow ran project create before any deploy, and that can't work with Composer: deploy picks the project by module name (composer/deploying, HostedStateBootstrapError).
  • Other pages now say a push deploys "once you set up deploy on push". Affected: faq, limitations, index, branching, deployments, cli/index, cli/service, the home and full-stack-tutorial cards, the GitHub-connection animation caption, and the framework guides' "deploy on push" links, which pointed at the quickstart and now point at Deploy on push.

2. Prisma Postgres doesn't do query caching

postgres/index (meta description, intro, features list), postgres/faq and postgres/best-postgres-for-ai-apps presented query caching and cacheStrategy as a Prisma Postgres feature. accelerate says "Query caching is not supported by Prisma Postgres", and Accelerate, including hosted connections for Prisma Postgres, retires on Dec 1, 2026. The FAQ's caching section is now one answer that points to Switch from Accelerate. It says Prisma Postgres has no query cache of its own, and that cacheStrategy works only through a hosted Accelerate connection until December 1, 2026. accelerate/caching, where the old /docs/postgres/caching URL redirects, said caching is "included as part of Prisma Postgres". It now says the same as the FAQ. Two caching mentions in guides/integrations/vercel-deployment are also gone.

3. No point-in-time recovery

The postgres/index features list promised "daily backups with point-in-time recovery". Backups describes daily snapshots on Starter, Pro and Business (7 or 30 days) and lists point-in-time restore as future work.

Out of scope, worth a follow-up

  • compute/getting-started "Environment variables" sets DATABASE_URL as a project variable, but a Composer app reads its database from service.load() (composer/databases). The "Agent skills" section installs the prisma-compute skill, which still teaches the old prisma.compute.ts config.
  • compute/object-storage and compute/image-transformations show a bare Hono export default app with no Composer service declaration. The deploy sentences are fixed here, but the examples need a Composer pass.
  • composer/index says "You do not need Composer to deploy to Prisma Compute". That's true for Alchemy; is it true for a Console deploy of a non-Composer app?
  • console/features/metrics lists "Cache utilization" for Prisma Postgres, and ai/prompts/prisma-7 tells agents to keep Accelerate for caching.

Checks: the three docs-reader-review prose checkers are clean on every changed line. Two independent review passes checked each new sentence against the docs pages it cites. pnpm lint:links hasn't run locally (no Node on this machine), so CI's Links check covers it.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Updated deployment guides to explain deploying Composer apps through the CLI or Console and configuring a GitHub workflow for deployments on push. Clarified that connecting a repository alone does not trigger deployments, and that pushes to the default branch deploy to production while other branches can create previews.
    • Clarified that Prisma Postgres supports connection pooling but not native query caching, and updated related product information, including that egress traffic is free.
    • Updated backup documentation to describe daily snapshots and their retention periods.
    • Added information that Accelerate, including its hosted Prisma Postgres connections, is scheduled to retire on December 1, 2026, and guidance for switching away from it.

Several Compute pages said that connecting a GitHub repository makes
every push build and deploy, and that builds detect your framework.
compute/github and compute/deploy-on-push say the opposite: a connected
repo without a deploy workflow deploys nothing, and the workflow deploys
a Prisma Composer app. Getting started now deploys a Composer app first,
then sets up deploy on push.

The Prisma Postgres overview, FAQ and AI-apps page advertised query
caching and cacheStrategy. accelerate/index says Prisma Postgres does
not support query caching, and Accelerate retires on Dec 1, 2026. The
overview also promised point-in-time recovery, which the Backups page
says is not available yet.

The CLI reference says the project name defaults to the exported app's
name and --name overrides it, so getting started now says the same.

accelerate/caching said Accelerate caching is "included as part of
Prisma Postgres", which contradicts accelerate/index. The old
/docs/postgres/caching URL redirects to that page. Both it and the
Postgres FAQ now say that Prisma Postgres has no query cache of its
own, that cacheStrategy works only through a hosted Accelerate
connection, and that those connections retire on December 1, 2026.

Retain the egress allowance and overage qualification.

The FAQ states that Prisma Postgres does not charge for egress traffic. Current pricing data instead defines plan-specific egress allowances followed by per-unit overage charges, including 250 GB included and $0.09/GB afterward. Customers who exceed the included allowance can therefore be billed for egress. Update this sentence to match the pricing data.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Qualify the snapshot schedule.

The backups page states that snapshots are created only on days with database activity. The overview's unqualified “daily snapshots” wording can lead users to expect one restore point for every calendar day and overestimate the snapshots available within the 7- or 30-day retention period.

Suggested fix
-- **Automated backups** (Starter, Pro, and Business plans): daily snapshots, kept for 7 or 30 days depending on the plan. See [Backups](/postgres/database/backups).
