Let each home screen widget select named subscription accounts, quota periods, reset displays, and appearance with a persistent live preview. Preserve separate workspace identities and expose configuration through launcher Edit and mobile settings. Implemented with GPT-6.1 Sol via Codex.
ApprovabilityVerdict: Not approved Macroscope's review found this PR not approvable — This XXL PR adds a user-facing Android configuration workflow, per-widget persistence, native launcher/deep-link plumbing, and substantial changes to widget rendering and refresh behavior. It also changes product defaults and patches the production widget runtime, creating cross-layer impact that warrants human review. You can add or adjust custom eligibility rules. Learn more. |

Read installed widget IDs before rendering the configuration screen. Derive opaque account display keys from subscription identity, and recover stored widget profiles independently while retaining valid selections. Verified with 114 focused tests, mobile/shared typechecks, targeted lint, and the installed Android client on API 36. Implemented with GPT-6.1 Sol via the Codex harness.
Dropping an unreadable widget override applies broader defaults and can show previously excluded accounts. Addressed the retained whole-profile recovery concern in CodeRabbit’s updated architecture review in c29d2fb18d. An unreadable saved widget override now remains an explicit empty selection, so the renderer cannot silently inherit defaults that show all accounts. Unreadable saved defaults also remain empty; absent defaults retain the normal initial configuration. The existing widget prompt directs the user to configure the selection in T3. Regressions reproduce unreadable string, null, and numeric overrides, assert the published widget remains empty while defaults contain accounts, and verify recovery survives another save. Corrupt saved defaults are covered separately. These cases fail before the fix; all 118 focused tests, mobile typecheck, and targeted lint pass afterward. Native UI evidence remains on the stated earlier revisions; the corruption cases were verified with focused tests. CodeRabbit approved 3828603; CI and review are rerunning for this follow-up. Human product-direction/scope approval remains pending in Ideas #17880. |

@coderabbitai Fixed the outside-diff account identity finding in The widget resolves workspace identity from all known environments while collecting reports only from selected environments. This preserves saved account selections, opaque display IDs, and per-quota reset choices without including excluded environments’ quota readings or labels. Existing callers retain their original behavior through the optional parameter’s default. Both regressions (one known workspace and ambiguous multiple workspaces) reproduced an empty widget before the fix and pass afterward. All 120 focused tests, mobile/shared typechecks, and targeted lint pass. |

@coderabbitai I checked the outside-diff account-detail navigation finding against the PR merge base. This is a valid existing navigation bug, but it is not introduced by this PR.
I ran the same temporary focused reproduction against the actual baseline collector and I am keeping that separate account-detail navigation fix out of this Android widget configuration PR. Please treat the finding as pre-existing when assessing this PR. The widget uses the subscription identity consistently for its saved selections and quota overrides; its 120 focused tests and required CI remain green. |

Problem
Android's subscription usage widget pools multiple accounts under a provider name and truncates quota rows behind “more in T3”. There is no way to choose which accounts or quotas an individual widget shows.
Change
Add device-local defaults and independent home-screen widget profiles, with configuration available through the launcher's Edit action, Settings, Usage → Limits, and the command palette. A persistent, collapsible preview shows changes while scrolling the settings.
Users can select providers, accounts, environments, quota periods, separate or pooled accounts, ordering, density, percentage display, theme, bars, and update/environment labels. Each quota shows its next reset time and time left by default; users can select either alone. Additional quota rows remain accessible by scrolling the widget. Selection uses the existing subscription identity, preserving separate workspace quotas for one email and deduplication across environments.
Scope and approval
Product-direction and scope approval is pending: Ideas proposal #17880. This adds a settings workflow and changes the defaults to separate named accounts, all quota rows, combined reset time/countdown details, and automatic environment labels; it is submitted for review without claiming a triage or configuration exemption.
This PR covers Android widget configuration and the native links needed to reach it. iOS retains its existing widget presentation and configuration. It does not change provider APIs or authentication, or address the separate picker-preview and resize-floor defects.
Verification
120 focused tests across account-aware snapshots, Android layout output, legacy/iOS snapshots, preference persistence, shared account collection, and Android/iOS dependency-graph guards. The new same-email/workspace regression failed before the identity fix and passes afterward.
10 Android native tests across API 24 and 36 for launcher configuration and widget-expiry behavior.
Mobile, shared, and web typechecks; lint of changed TypeScript/JavaScript files; diff checks. On follow-up
7c5641286d, mobile typecheck, TypeScript lint, ktlint 1.8.0 and detekt 1.23.8 for the widget native module, all 110 focused tests, and all 10 native tests pass. The dependency-graph guard reproduced both CI failures before the fix and passes afterward.Review follow-up
38286036ec: synchronous initial widget IDs, stable opaque account display IDs, and independent recovery of saved profiles/fields. All 114 focused tests, mobile/shared typechecks, and targeted lint pass. The rebuilt API 36 client shows matching unnamed-account labels in the actual widget and preview; launcher Edit opens the correct existing profile with enabled controls.Recovery follow-up
c29d2fb18d: unreadable saved widget overrides retain an empty selection instead of inheriting broader defaults. Unreadable saved defaults also stay empty; absent defaults retain the normal initial configuration. Corrupt-state regressions fail before the change and pass afterward. All 118 focused tests, mobile typecheck, and targeted lint pass. This follow-up changes recovery logic only; the native captures remain on the revisions stated below.Default follow-up
847c884726: new configurations and profiles without a saved reset-display choice show both reset time and countdown. Explicit saved choices are preserved. All 118 focused tests, mobile typecheck, and targeted lint pass. On API 36, resetting defaults selects both values; a widget following those defaults shows both on the home screen.Identity follow-up
0a5d3e0083: filtering environments preserves account IDs, opaque display IDs, and per-quota choices by resolving workspace identity against all known presentations. Quotas, timestamps, and environment labels still come only from the selected environments. Regressions for one known workspace and ambiguous multiple workspaces fail before the fix and pass afterward. All 120 focused tests, mobile/shared typechecks, and targeted lint pass. This follow-up changes snapshot selection logic only; native captures remain on their stated revisions.Native builds from upstream baseline

Native UI testing covered API 36 with an isolated local connection. API 24 is covered by native unit tests. Production Google sign-in, relay/tunnel connections, and iOS native UI were not exercised.
