🟡 Minor · Normalize bracketed IPv6 hostnames before the loopback check. · linkEnvironment.ts:161-195

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winNormalize bracketed IPv6 hostnames before the loopback check.
new URL("http://[::1]:3774").hostnameis"[::1]", butLOOPBACK_HTTP_HOSTScontains"::1". The managed-link path therefore storesendpointRuntimewithoutorigin. This metadata enables the environment to restart the local connector after a desktop backend port hop, so an IPv6 loopback link can retain a stale connector port. Normalize the hostname in this transformer. Reconciliation-key validation is separate and does not fix this initialrelay-configrequest.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

Accept the serialized IPv6 loopback hostname.
URL.hostname returns [::1] for http://[::1]:3774, but the allowlist contains ::1. The reconcile key returns null, so DesktopManagedTunnelOriginReconcile skips origin re-registration after an IPv6 loopback port change.

UI-linked desktop environments recorded the loopback origin only at link time. After a restart the backend can land on a new port while Cloudflare ingress still pointed at the old one. Re-link the current origin from the signed-in desktop session, and restart the local connector when that origin changes. Fixes pingdotgg#12641
CodeRabbit docstring coverage on the Connect port-hop PR was below 80%. Add one-line TSDoc on the functions and components this diff touches. Co-authored-by: maco <macodev00@users.noreply.github.com>
…ilures Clearing the reconcile key on token or link failure never re-ran the effect, so a blip left the current loopback origin unregistered until restart. Schedule a bounded backoff retry and cancel it on cleanup.
Hoisted retry helpers lost the loopback-target narrowing, and window.setTimeout returned a number against Node's Timeout type. Keep the bounded retry, with global timers and a post-guard closure.
Token and link failures already scheduled a backoff, but the effect depended on callback and link-state identity. A re-render cancelled the timer and reset the attempt bound. Drive retries from a keyed session that cancels only on cleanup or origin change.

🟠 High desktop/DesktopManagedTunnelOriginReconcile.tsx:69
Disabling the managed tunnel while getToken is pending can still leave it enabled again: after the check at line 62, linkPrimaryEnvironment may be queued behind the unlink and then execute after it. Because the queued command has no abort or scheduler-level cancellation, effect cleanup cannot prevent this re-link; make the enqueue operation cancellation-aware (or otherwise cancel/reject the command before execution).

IPv6-loopback targets never get an origin from withManagedTunnelRuntimeOrigin, so a later port hop leaves Connect using the old runtime key and connector port. URL.hostname is "[::1]" for http://[::1]:3774, which does not match the unbracketed "::1" entry in LOOPBACK_HTTP_HOSTS; normalize the hostname or include the bracketed form.

Thanks for working on this. We merged the orchestrator V2 rewrite in #2829, and we are closing this PR as part of that transition. The patch conflicts with the rewrite in apps/web/src/cloud/linkEnvironment.ts. Even where the conflict is small enough to rebase, we are asking for fresh PRs against the new base so we can review and verify the behavior in V2. Sorry for the extra work this creates. If the change is still needed on V2, please rebuild it on current main, verify it there, and open a new PR linking back here. We're closing the current implementation without assuming the underlying request is resolved. |

Fixes #12641
UI-linked desktops stored the origin only at link time; CLI-linked servers already re-register on boot. Stale Cloudflare ingress left Connect pointing at the old port.
UI
N/A for chrome — Connect continues to reach the desktop after a port hop on restart (no new prompts).
