[Bug]: Terminal cursor is at the wrong position #1939

Steps to reproduce

1. Set up the Starship shell prompt (unsure if T3's terminal has issues with other prompts)
2. open a T3 workspace
3. open the terminal in T3
4. observe the cursor is a few characters behind where it should be

Impact

Minor bug or occasional failure

(mostly cosmetic, but I chose "minor bug" because I've noticed some other, more broken, terminal output weirdness occasionally that seems related. will add screenshots when I figure out a repro for that)
