The cluster nodes talk to each other over the API they already serve, which means FTL links against libcurl - and the from-source instructions did not say so. Signed-off-by: DL6ER <dl6er@dl6er.de>
Several Pi-holes keeping their configuration and their lists in step, handing DHCP over when one of them fails, and moving a virtual IP address between them. Covers what does and does not travel between the nodes and why, how they authenticate each other, what joining and leaving really do, what happens when the nodes cannot see each other or are on different versions, and a three-container compose file for trying it out. Documentation for native HA clustering in FTL (pi-hole/FTL#3069): what a cluster keeps in step and what it deliberately does not, building one from the web interface or by hand, DHCP failover and the leases that travel with it, the virtual IP address, how the nodes authenticate and recognize each other's certificates, what happens across versions and rollbacks, and a Docker example.
compile.mdnotes that building FTL now needs libcurl. The page itself is pi-hole/web#3864. Draft on purpose: the whole feature is slated to go in after v7.0.
