feat: exact default pins with sync --upgrade #343

Open

Description

@pacphi

Why

Pins are exact per project; the rolling window applies only to tools: "system" (ledger Branch 3 item 1).

In scope

Default pins table; version checks cached; ak sync --upgrade [name[@Version]] moves pins and shows what changes.

Out of scope

Sync rebuild (#355).

Acceptance criteria

  • A new project gets the default pins
  • --upgrade name@version moves one pin, forward or back
  • The default Ruflo pin is chosen after a conformance run on 3.51.1, the first release whose pre-bash helper blocks (test: flag project hook helpers whose pre-bash exits 1 on [BLOCKED] #428); 3.48.0 carries the memory and daemon fixes our workarounds wait on. Any hard minimum for tools: "system" is decided here and recorded as an ADR-0041 §7 amendment

Dependencies

Blocked by: #339

Blocks: #355, #385

Plan

Verification

  • node scripts/run-tests.mjs focus (new pin tests)

Decision, 2026-10-02 (option A on the Ruflo support floor): leave the ADR-0041 §7 rolling window unchanged for alpha.61, and settle the default pin and any hard minimum here, at beta.1.

Why it is not a one-line change: the floor is computed (the newest 6 minors, never fewer than those first published in the last 30 days). Ruflo shipped about 13 minors in a month, so it sits at 3.39.0 today. Forcing 3.48.0 now would change what ak status calls unsupported. The maintainer's Mac runs ruflo 3.48.0 (it showed in the dashboard on 2026-10-02), so it would pass 3.48.0, but anyone on 3.39 to 3.47 would be flagged.

What to decide here, with the evidence from the 2026-10-02 upstream review:

    • 3.48.0 is the first release with the fixes behind four of our workarounds (#3444, #3445, #3473 and the memory fixes #3450, #3417, #3447, #3143).
    • 3.51.1 (published 2026-10-02) is the first release whose pre-bash helper blocks in Claude Code (exit 2). It is hours old, so the default pin should follow a conformance run on it.
    • Pins are exact per project, so the rolling window matters only for tools: "system".

The acceptance line for this is now in the card body.
