Can't use pyserial as dep in setup.py using Python 3.2 #1
I'm working around this by added a direct URL to the .tar.gz at PyPi in the dependency_links section. Nobody seems to be paying attention to the bug tracker for pyserial.
The workaround doesn't work if you install with pip, so instead I am now not installing pyserial as a dependency if you are using Python 3. The docs now have a section on how to use a Serial interface, which explains the situation.

Impressive - over a year later, this bug is being fixed upstream in pyserial: http://sourceforge.net/p/pyserial/bugs/130/
When we re-add support for Python 3.x (when protobuf supports it), revisit this.
