Can't set resolution to 1080p while on Full Screen on 4k Monitor

[HatemElZomor]

As the title says, I have a 4k monitor but weak hardware, and option is disabled to set it on 1080p or 720p on full screen. If I set it to windowed I can set it to a low resolution but then it can't be full screen.

In other games I can keep it full screen while choosing the resolution I like.

Use the Resolution Scale slider to change the internal game resolution.

I tried but I am somehow getting lower fps than going to windows display settings to desired resolution or playing windowed is giving me much better fps.

I could provide screenshots to show it in action

Refer to the FAQ for other ways to improve performance.

I have tried all of them, but it's a resolution problem. Resolution scale doesn't make it actually 720p and doesn't improve FPS by much at all. But going to windows display settings and changing it to 720p with 100% resolution scale I am getting way better fps.

Please look at the pictures I took, and look at the fps difference between both scenarios in the picture. I am running windows 10 bootcamp.

You can see here I am running windows display setting with 720p and I am getting consistent 60 fps

But here, at 4k windows display settings and low resolution scale, fps is poor.

Does it get any better inside the game? Maybe the custom menus are bottlenecking your display since these all still get rendered at 4K even if the 3D isn't.

I have just tried to load a stage to make sure and still getting poor fps performance with the low res scale

Configuration #1

Gameplay on config #1 getting 20-30 max fps

Configuration #2

Gameplay on config #2
Getting consistent 57-60FPs

To recap, my request is for the game to automatically change the windows 10 display resolution for the game application like other games do in full screen.

Resolution scale only changes the internal resolution and then scales up which sacrifices fps. It needs to change the windows 10 display resolution for the application.

Example in Rocket League

We have no plans to support exclusive fullscreen.

We have no plans to implement exclusive fullscreen.

It means that the user would need to manually adjust the windows display settings for the desired resolution.

And resolution scale is making it more confusing for the user and it's only giving a minor fps boost since unlike adjusting the native windows 10 resolution which gives a major fps performance.

If I have the time I will try to implement it into the source code myself and you should consider applying it in a future update
