This PR moves the landing onto the shared landing kit, go-fleettools/landingkit v0.7.1. It is wave 6 of the fleet's migration, done with landingmigrate (go-fleettools/fleettools).

What changes

  • The design comes from the kit. That means the nav bar, the hero, the fork ribbon, the dark mode and the hero carousel. The content stays as it was: the header becomes the hero, the first code snippet becomes the hero's terminal, and <main> keeps its own rules, scoped to .legacy.
  • Removed: layouts/partials/icons/book.html, layouts/partials/icons/mark-github.html, layouts/partials/icons/OCTICONS-LICENSE, because the kit ships them, and a local copy would silently override the kit's.
  • Added: go.mod and kit.go, so Renovate bumps the kit. hugo.toml gets the module import and a [params.brand] block read from the logo by landingkit brand.
  • actions/setup-go is added to .github/workflows/hugo.yml, because hugo fetches the module with the go command.
  • The mantra strip under the top bar shows LICENSE=BSD-3-Clause and CGO_ENABLED=0.

Repeats hidden while the strip shows

The strip already says these. Each is wrapped in {{ if not (partial "mantra-on.html" $) }}, so it comes back if the strip is ever turned off:

  • pill: pure Go · zero cgo
  • badge: (the licence badge)
  • footer: BSD-3-Clause ·

Kept: these mention the licence or cgo and say more (please review)

  • sentence: No cgo, no Prism.
  • sentence: go-ruby-parser turns Ruby source into a syntax tree: a stateful lexer, a recursive-descent parser with a Pratt expression core, and a typed AST — all in pure Go, with cgo disabled.
  • sentence: No cgo, no Prism, no shelling out to Ruby: the front-end the Go ecosystem lacked for building Ruby tooling (linters, formatters, analysers, doc generators, LSP servers, transpilers) in pure Go.
  • sentence: A pure-Go, cgo-disabled front-end, so it cross-compiles and embeds anywhere — and, being CGO=0, also compiles to WebAssembly (js/wasm and wasip1/wasm).

Verified

I built the old page, the new page, and the new page with the strip off, then ran landingmigrate verify:

VERIFIED 88 text nodes, 10 links, 5 pictures of the old page kept; the strip-on page is the strip-off page minus 3 hidden repeat(s); the strip says LICENSE=BSD-3-Clause, CGO_ENABLED=0 as text

Every text node, link and picture of the old page is still on the new page. With the strip on, the page is the strip-off page minus exactly the hidden repeats.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Moved by landingmigrate: the kit's layout around the same content, the
kit's partials no longer copied here, go.mod and kit.go so Renovate bumps
the kit, [params.brand] read from the logo, setup-go for the module. 3
repeat(s) of the strip hidden while it shows, 4 kept for review.
Verified: nothing of the old page lost.
