Scripts REPO_ROOT variable issue

I've initialized spec-kit in a nested folder. When I run /speckit.specify it creates the /specs folder in the root of the repository instead of in the folder where I've initialized.

Would it be a possibility to just default this to the folder where /.specify lives instead?
