Persistent Statusline bar (inspired by Claude Code) #2266
This would help avoid surprise context compactions, distinguish multiple sessions at a glance, and keep git branch always visible when switching repos.
The core of this is available as of v1.0.10. The statusLine.command config option lets you point to a shell script that receives session data as JSON on stdin and renders a persistent bottom bar. Later releases added ~ and environment variable expansion in the command path (v1.0.11) and a session_name field in the payload (v1.0.12). The /statusline slash command for natural-language script generation is not yet available. If you believe this isn't resolved or you're looking for something beyond the current statusLine.command support, feel free to reopen.
The Claude Code statusline is genuinely one of my favorite UX details — knowing at a glance where you are in the context window changes how you write prompts. A scriptable statusLine in config.json would be perfect; piping JSON session data to a shell script is exactly the right level of flexibility. Would love to see this land.
