Follow up from #16982:

The Node adapter seems to hang when the SDK is used in instrumentation.server.ts and the server is shut down. We can fix this by listening to the process.on('sveltekit:shutdown') event.

Turns out, hanging shut down in the node adapter is not caused by the SDK but can be easily reproduced without any o11y SDK. This seems to be related to the Node adapter's graceful shutdown feature. Not sure if there's a bug in there because I could repro 30s long hangs after just making 10 requests within 1-2 secs but this is not a problem of our SDK. Closing, nothing to do for us.
