🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Match the full preset name before parsing an answer.
If a saved preset is named Work yes, this code removes yes before lookup. When a Work preset also exists, /model Work yes selects the wrong preset. A name ending in no can instead cancel or fail lookup. Resolve an exact preset name first, then parse a confirmation answer for the Local only preset.

Thanks @bernalalexis-try, and welcome! Nice quick turnaround on #457. We test every change end to end before merging, so I'm running this against a real engine with a test Telegram setup now and will follow up with a review. |

Hi @bernalalexis-try, welcome to Sentient, and thank you for picking up #457 so quickly! Reusing #451's question for both the command and the button is exactly right, and the tests read really well. I ran it on a real engine with a test Telegram setup:
- tapping Local only now asks;
/model Local only noleaves everything as it was;/model Local only yesturns on both the setup and the switch;- in a group, only the person who paired it can do any of this.
Two small things before we can merge:
- A setup name ending in "no". CodeRabbit's note on lines ~1083-1085 is right: a saved setup whose name ends in "no" (or "yes") can't be picked by typing any more. For example,
/model Just say noreplies "I don't have a model setup called 'Just say'". Could you look for an exact match on the full text first, and only treat a trailing yes/no as the answer when nothing matches? Plus a quick test. - The CLA check is waiting on you: just post a comment with "I have read the CLA Document and I hereby sign the CLA".
Tiny optional nit: /model Cloud no replies "Okay, I left your models as they are." even when nothing was asked.
That's all. Thanks again!
…and cancel on "no" Tapping "Local only" in the /model list applied the preset without asking and left the Local only switch off. It now asks the same question as "/model Local only". "/model Local only no" answers that question by leaving the models as they are, instead of looking for a setup called "Local only no". Closes existence-master#457

Hi @bernalalexis-try, I think the latest push may not have included your changes. The code is the same as before; only the commit's email changed. Two things are still open:
Everything else works well in my re-test. Thanks! |
What and why
Follow-up to #451 (#446). Two gaps in
sentient/channels/base.py:/modellist applied the preset without asking and left the Local only switch off._preset_buttonnow asks the same question as/model Local onlywhen Local only is off: the button message settles to "Turn on Local only too?" and the chat gets the question. Answering/model Local only yesswitches both, as before./model Local only noreplied "I don't have a model setup called 'Local only no'". The command now treats a trailingyesornoas the answer, andnoreplies "Okay, I left your models as they are." without changing anything. The check and the question are shared by the command and the button (
_asks_local_only,_local_only_question), and the question now mentions both answers: "Reply /model Local only yes or /model Local only no". Who can answer is unchanged: in a group only the chat's owner can press the button.Closes #457
How I tested it
pytest tests/channels/test_model_command.py: 10 passed. New tests:test_local_only_button_asks_before_turning_the_switch_on: tapping the button gives the "Turn on Local only too?" toast and edit, sends the question, changes nothing, and/model Local only yesthen switches both.test_local_only_no_cancels:/model Local only noafter the question leaves the models and the switch as they were.test_model_lists_presets_and_a_button_applies_onenow turns Local only on before tapping, so it still covers a button applying a preset directly.base.py, the two new tests fail.pytest tests/channels: 154 passed, 1 skipped, 2 failed. The 2 failures are the voice-note tests (test_telegram.py::test_voice_note_is_transcribed_and_answered,test_whatsapp.py::test_voice_note_in_and_voice_note_out); they fail the same way onmainin my environment, which lacks the voice extras.ruff check sentient tests: clean.Real test
tests/channels, as the issue asks for. No model involved: the/modelcommand and its buttons are answered by the channel code, never by a model.Checklist
