Hi 👋, I'm Emilio

Senior Software Engineer and Tech Lead based in Rome, Italy, with 13+ years of experience.

I build backend systems with Node.js, TypeScript and PostgreSQL, and work with React when the product needs an interface.

How I work

Code is the means, product is the goal.

I start by understanding the problem, questioning assumptions and clarifying requirements. I take ownership through design, implementation, testing, rollout and production validation.

I prefer simple solutions with clear responsibilities. I use AI with explicit acceptance criteria, independent verification and human review.

Things I've built recently

  • Pi Maestro: a spec-driven development workflow that coordinates AI agents through a finite-state machine, with independent verification and final human review.
  • H2H iRacing: real-time racing overlays that stream simulator telemetry from a Node.js server to React through Server-Sent Events.
  • Node iRacing SDK: a published Node.js library for reading simulator shared memory and parsing telemetry files.
  • Pi open GitHub PR: a Pi extension that inspects committed changes, generates a pull request title and description, and opens or updates the GitHub pull request.
  • My weather station: a system that collects BLE sensor readings, stores them in PostgreSQL and displays them in a web app.
  • Oxlint anti-slop: custom lint rules that turn coding standards into automated checks for TypeScript projects.
  • Just use Postgres: an example of a PostgreSQL-backed work queue with concurrent workers, row locking and retries.
