Description
We are introducing a new RESTART action for Fleet-managed agents. This allows operators to remotely restart the Elastic Agent process on one or more agents, either individually or in bulk (by agent ID list or KQL query).
Key details:
- Available from agent version 9.6.0 and above. Agents below 9.6.0 are ineligible and receive an error result.
- Not available for agents enrolled in hosted/managed agent policies.
- Single-agent restart:
POST /api/fleet/agents/{agentId}/restart
- Bulk restart:
POST /api/fleet/agents/bulk_restart
- Action type shown in Agent Activity flyout:
