Release as Flatpak on Flathub for Linux Users #3575
Describe the solution you'd like
Currently the only ways to use on Linux are through deb or rpm packages. For arch based distros the only way to use it is from the binary in the tarball. It is a bit clunky but more importantly, does not feature automatic updates.
Packaging as a Flatpak would allow a package once release everywhere workflow, and releasing on Flathub would allow for automatic updates. From the end user perspective, they can just fetch the latest update from Flathub through KDE Discover or GNOME App Store.
Flatpak would also reduce complexities with dependencies. This is more notable on LTS distros such as Linux Mint where packages do not get updates as frequently. Flatpak uses its own runtimes outside of what the end user has installed via their distro. Yes, this does increase the size but in my humble opinion it is a fair trade off for compatibility.
The best argument for Flatpak is it is distro agnostic. Meaning developers would not have to worry too much about supporting a particular distro. It will usually work on any distro. Many modern day distros come out of the box with everything to run flatpaks.

As I recall there are some issues with Flathub & HTML-based programs. It's come up in a few projects where people ask for a flatpak.
