Why

The CV and Cover Letter guides ask for two things Windrush didn't do:

  • Give the most relevant role more space. Every role got 1–2 bullets, which undersold the strongest one.
  • Say why a fact about the employer connects to you. The hook stated a fact ("Catapult's software supports nine Formula 1 teams") but never said why it appeals.

What changed

CV (generate_tailored_cv):

  • The role most relevant to the job gets 3 bullets whenever its data holds three or more distinct achievements.
  • Every other role keeps 1–2, and bullets are still never padded.
  • "Up to 3" alone let the model merge achievements into two, so the rule is firm.
  • _CV_RUBRIC agrees. The renderer already allowed 4 bullets per role, and its one-page fit steps are unchanged.

Letter (generate_cover_letter):

  • After the employer fact, the hook says why that fact draws the candidate, through something in their own data (a project, subject or goal), never just that it is "relevant".
  • _LETTER_RUBRIC agrees.

Tests

  • New: a third bullet on the most relevant role survives the CV pipeline (fact and style checks, date restore).
  • New: the hook instruction reaches the letter prompt.
  • Fast suite: 1070 passed.
  • Catapult regenerated with this code in the API container:
    • Rootlayer gets 3 bullets, the other roles 1–2.
    • The CV still fits one page (first fit step).
    • The hook now reads "that specific reach draws me because I have built sports forecasts…".
    • The fact checks found nothing.

After deploy

Rebuild the API with docker compose up -d --build api. Autopilot writes new documents on every run.

… draws the candidate

From the CV and cover-letter guides: give the most relevant role more space, and say
why a fact about the employer connects to you rather than only stating it.

- CV: the role most relevant to the job gets 3 bullets whenever its data holds three
or more distinct achievements; every other role keeps 1-2. "Up to 3" alone let the
model merge them, so the rule is firm (still never padded). The rubric agrees.
- Letter: after the employer fact, the hook says why that fact draws the candidate,
through something in their data, never just that it is "relevant". The rubric agrees.

Catapult, regenerated: Rootlayer gets 3 bullets, the others 1-2; the CV still fits one
page (first fit step); the hook now says why Catapult's Formula 1 work draws the
candidate; the fact checks find nothing.
