What & why
clerk/javascript#9955 moves the Expo native components, and the
build.gradlethat pins clerk-android, from@clerk/expointo a new@clerk/expo-native-componentspackage (packages/expo-native-components/android/build.gradle). After that merges, theopen-expo-android-release-prjob would fail with "Could not read clerk-android versions", because it hard-codespackages/expo/android/build.gradleand@clerk/expo.The update step now detects which layout the checked-out javascript repo has and uses the matching Gradle file, changeset package and commit/PR scope:
packages/expo-native-components/android/build.gradle→'@clerk/expo-native-components': patch,chore(expo-native-components): bump clerk-android to …packages/expo/android/build.gradle→'@clerk/expo': patch, chore(expo): …(today's behavior)So releases keep opening the bump PR before and after the split lands, and the fallback can be removed once #9955 is on
main.What to focus on
mainand the #9955 branch). Each produced the right file, package, scope and both Gradle pins updated.actionlintpasses apart from the existing custom Blacksmith runner labels.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
