Playable RSS episodes without pubDate disappear from the episode list #378
PodNotes drops an RSS episode with a title and valid audio enclosure when the optional pubDate element is absent. The podcast opens normally and its dated control episode appears, but the undated playable episode disappears.
Reproduced on Obsidian 1.13.7, headless Linux, PodNotes 2.20.3 at d420a7d, in isolated vault podnotes-test-journey-e2e. The fixture at http://127.0.0.1.nip.io:<ephemeral port>/missing-date/feed.xml contains artwork and two six-second WAV episodes. Dated Control has a pubDate. Undated Episode has the same valid title/enclosure structure and no pubDate.
Subscribe to the fixture feed and open PodNotes.
Click Journey Missing Date in the podcast grid.
Wait for loading to finish.
Expected behavior is both playable episodes in the list, with a fallback date for the undated episode. Actual behavior is only Dated Control. RSS 2.0 does not require item pubDate.
The real-runtime command was TMPDIR=/data/home/tmp/podnotes-QA1 fnm exec --using 22 npm run test:e2e -- -t 'without pubDate'. The expected list ["Dated Control", "Undated Episode"] failed with actual ["Dated Control"]. Evidence is .obsidian-e2e-artifacts/qa1/repro-missing-date.log in the QA1 worktree. The renderer remained responsive and completed loading.
Source inspection points to src/parser/feedDocumentParser.ts, which requires a pubDate along with title and enclosure before constructing an episode. QA1 records the behavior as a known failure and does not change product parsing.
