Version bump and changelog for 0.8.0, following the shape of every release before it: CHANGELOG.md, rust/Cargo.toml, rust/Cargo.lock.

A minor bump rather than a patch because #367 added a feature: a host-side herdr session now shows whether the agent in a workspace is working, idle or blocked waiting for a human. The changelog entry carries the reasoning; the short version is that herdr identifies a pane's agent from the pane's foreground process, aid's host tree is aid → dl → ssh with the agent in the container, and so devlaunch supplies the identification over herdr's socket and lets herdr do the rest.

Nothing changes for a host that does not run herdr — no mount, no stage, no notice, every command line byte-identical — and DEVLAUNCH_NO_HERDR=1 opts out.

$ dl --version
dl 0.8.0

Reviewer's Guide

Release 0.8.0 bumps the Rust workspace version and updates the changelog to document a new herdr integration feature that exposes agent activity state from devlaunch workspaces, including opt-out and behavior guarantees for hosts without herdr.

File-Level Changes

Change Details Files
Document the 0.8.0 release, focusing on the new herdr integration that reports agent activity state and its operational constraints/opt-outs.
  • Add 0.8.0 release section under the Unreleased header
  • Describe how devlaunch supplies agent identity to herdr over a socket so panes can show working/idle/waiting-for-human state
  • Explain the container boundary crossing (herdr socket mount, pane identity on agent command line, claude hook events) and why host-only setups see no behavioral change
  • Clarify opt-out mechanisms via DEVLAUNCH_NO_HERDR and DEVLAUNCH_NO_TOOLS and the conditions under which the herdr stage is active
CHANGELOG.md
Bump the Rust workspace package version from 0.7.3 to 0.8.0 and refresh lockfile metadata accordingly.
  • Update workspace.package.version to 0.8.0
  • Regenerate Cargo.lock to reflect the new version and dependency resolution for the release
rust/Cargo.toml
