A native, open-source vector graphics editor for Windows.
Bezier paths, live corners, gradients, pathfinder and SVG—without a subscription.
Download VectorForm for Windows — or grab VectorForm-Setup-<version>.exe from GitHub Releases.
The installer sets VectorForm up for your user account, with no administrator prompt, and adds a Start menu shortcut and a standard uninstaller in Settings › Apps.
Note
The installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may show "Windows protected your PC" the first time. Choose More info › Run anyway.
VectorForm 1.0.0 is the first public release: a full drawing toolset with live, draggable corner radii, a pathfinder, gradients with angle control, an icon keyline grid and document pills. It opens SVG and the common image formats, and exports SVG and PNG.
VectorForm is for the everyday vector work that doesn't need a subscription: icons, logos, illustrations, diagrams and UI assets. It works the way professional illustration tools do — draw with the pen, shape with the Direct Selection tool, combine with the pathfinder — so if you have used one before, you already know your way around.
It is a native Windows application, not a web wrapper: C# on .NET 9, WinUI 3 and a GPU-accelerated Win2D canvas. The vector engine is a separate, UI-free library covered by a test suite, so the drawing behavior is predictable and stays that way.
- Pen tool with full bezier control — click for corners, drag for smooth points, click the first anchor to close
- Curvature tool that bends a round, smooth curve through the points you click
- Pencil with curve fitting, so a freehand stroke becomes a compact editable path
- Rectangle, rounded rectangle, ellipse, polygon, star and line tools, with
Shiftto constrain andAltto draw from the center - Type edited directly on the canvas, with every installed font
- Every corner has a corner handle: drag it to round the corner, drag it back to sharpen it
- Click a handle to pick that corner, Ctrl+click to add more, click anywhere else to reset — then round only the corners you picked
- Set an exact radius in the Transform panel's Corners field; drawn shapes stay adjustable afterwards
- Selection with move, scale and rotate handles;
Alt-drag duplicates - Direct selection of individual anchors and their bezier handles
- Add and delete anchor points without changing the curve
- Pathfinder: unite, minus front, minus back, intersect, exclude, divide, crop
- Shape Builder: drag across overlapping shapes to merge regions, or erase them
- Clipping masks, outline stroke, offset path, simplify, join and average
- Group, z-order, align and distribute; undo and redo for every operation
- Solid, linear and radial gradient fills and strokes, with an angle control right in the color picker
- Stroke weight, caps, joins, dashes, and inside/center/outside alignment
- Drop shadow, outer glow and inner glow; per-object opacity and blend modes
- Swatch libraries and hex entry everywhere a color is shown
- Open documents as pills in the toolbar, with a
⋯overflow list when there are many - A clean title bar with the menus in it, dockable panels and a tool strip you can float
- Rulers with drag-out guides, a grid, smart guides and snapping
- An icon keyline grid (View › Show Icon Grid) for drawing icons that sit together
- Smooth drag-to-zoom, sideways scrolling on touchpads, and a shortcut for every tool
- Native
.vformformat (readable JSON) - Open and drag in PNG, JPEG, BMP, GIF, TIFF and WebP — drop an image on the canvas to place it, or anywhere else to open it
- SVG import and export, and a subset of EPS/AI import
- PNG export at any scale
Everything is handled through GitHub, and the app links straight to it:
- Help › Report a Bug… opens a bug report.
- Help › Request a Feature… opens a feature request.
Security issues should be reported privately; see SECURITY.md.
Being clear about the gaps matters more than a long feature list:
- Text carries a single style per object — no per-character formatting, and no text on a path
- No brushes, symbols, patterns, meshes or image tracing
- Artboards can be created with a document but not added, resized or deleted afterwards
- EPS/AI import reads the drawing subset vector editors emit; gradients, embedded images and text in those files are skipped rather than guessed at
- No CMYK or color management — the pipeline is sRGB throughout
- Pathfinder and Shape Builder results are polygonal: curves are flattened at a fine tolerance rather than re-fitted to beziers
- Windows 10 version 1809 or newer; Windows 11 is recommended
- x64
- To build from source: the .NET 9 SDK. Visual Studio is optional.
git clone https://github.com/binodray/VectorForm.git
cd VectorForm
dotnet build
dotnet run --project src/VectorForm.AppThe app is unpackaged and self-contained, so the build output is an ordinary .exe you can run without installing anything. To build the installer, see Releasing.
dotnet testThe suite drives every tool through the same input path the canvas uses, so drawing, editing, corners, pathfinder and file round-trips are all covered without a window. Builds and tests also run in GitHub Actions.

docs Architecture and release notes
VectorForm.Core knows nothing about XAML or Win2D, so the whole editing model is testable without a UI. See docs/architecture.md.
Bug reports, feature proposals, documentation improvements and code contributions are welcome. Please read CONTRIBUTING.md before opening a pull request, and use the GitHub issue forms so reports include enough to reproduce them.
