[BUG] diff calculation is slow

Description

Snapshot.diffFull is slow, 13s on a 1000 file diff. This can be sped up. I'm proposing a fix soon

Steps to reproduce

A quick test is to revert a message with many file changes and see how long it takes for the diff to be calculated
