Alberto G. Valerio

Ph.D. Candidate in Digital Innovation and e-Health at the University of Bari "Aldo Moro", Italy.

I work on trustworthy and interpretable artificial intelligence for healthcare, with a particular focus on Graph Neural Networks, Explainable AI, medical imaging and neuroimaging, and multimodal learning.

My research explores AI methodologies for clinically relevant problems, including brain tumor segmentation, early Alzheimer's disease diagnosis, and speech-based modeling of mental health states. I am particularly interested in developing models that combine predictive performance with transparent and clinically meaningful explanations.

My research background is complemented by more than ten years of professional software engineering experience.
