Spatial queries of other forms than in the docs? #579

In the docs you have http://api.vertnet-portal.appspot.com/api/search?q={"q":"distance(location,geopoint(33.529,-105.694))<2000"} as an example.

Are there other types of spatial queries supported? E.g., search a bounding box, or a WKT string

I tried to find in app engine docs, but not sure how to find those docs either, basically I don't know anything about app engine
