Problem or use case

Workers often generate multiple images and other files across different tasks in the current project. Finding and reviewing those assets later can require digging through conversations or browsing the source tree.

It would be helpful to have an Assets panel in the sidebar that brings together media files created or changed by workers in the current project.

Proposed solution

  • Add Assets alongside Source, Diff, Pull request, and Agents in the sidebar.
  • Show assets created or modified in the current workspace, with a way to distinguish new and changed files.
  • Group or filter assets by type, such as Images, Videos, Audio, Documents, and Other. Only show groups that contain files.
  • Display image thumbnails, filenames, and file paths. Use suitable previews or file icons for other types.
  • Open an asset in a larger preview when clicked.
  • Provide quick actions such as Copy path, Open file, and Reveal in folder.
  • Include search and sorting, such as newest first or by filename.

Why this matters

A dedicated panel would make it easier to see what was created and quickly open the right file, especially when workers produce assets across multiple tasks and conversations.

Smallest useful scope

For the initial version, image previews and access to other media files in the current project would already be a big improvement. More advanced features, such as filtering by worker or task, could be added later if that information is available.

Alternatives considered

Find files by digging through conversations or browsing the source tree. This works, but makes it harder to review assets together and locate the right file later.
