Multiple Markdown/LaTeX formatting bugs and renderer quirks #245
Lists: mixed bullet markers don't start a new list (2).
Currency/dollar-sign parsing: unrelated $ on same line (3); balckslahed $ turning into $ inside a code block (4).
Footnotes & definition lists: footnote syntax leaking out of code (5); multi-term definitions not recognized (6).
LaTeX/MathJax: superscript ^ leaking into same line text (7); escaped underscore not showing (8); broken \left\{/\right\} delimiters (9, 11); \color bleeding onto unbraced content (10).
Thank you for reporting this issue and for identifying these important Markdown and LaTeX rendering problems in Markdown Viewer.
I’m looking into these issues and will keep you updated as I investigate and work on the fixes.
Also, thank you for sharing all the detailed examples through Share Snapshot. Having the expected and actual behavior together made the issues much easier to understand and reproduce.
Really appreciate you taking the time to document everything so clearly!

Thanks for looking into these, and I'm happy to help.
I really love the viewer, and I hope these issues can get resolved.
Thanks for the quick fix. I checked the updated version, and everything looks fixed except for these 2 things:
Issue 2 still doesn't appear to be fixed. Changing the marker should start a new list, but - and * are still merged into one list. See screenshot for the expected behaviour here.
For Issue 3, I'm not sure what logic is currently being used to distinguish plain $ from math $...$, but I think requiring \$ for literal dollar signs could make this more predictable, as I think your current logic uses commas to detect the difference, see example below:
We spent \$20 which caused \$45 of loss and \$99.
Other than these 2, everything looks great. Thanks again.
