Proposal: Add color space field for Image Generation Models #4
Currently we have no way to specify another color space and all models are assumed to produce sRGB images. However sRGB was designed to describe your average PC monitor in the 90'ies and sticking to that severely limits both the gamut and dynamic range (HDR) of today's monitors.
I would like to share HDR models that target the Rec. 2100 PQ color space, but if these are interpreted as sRGB it results it gray, dull images.
I propose we add something like this to the Image Generation Models section:
Name
Type
Description
Examples
color_space
CAN
The color space an image generator is intended to work in. This may be either be specified as CICP (Coding-independent code points, see ITU-T H.273) in the format cicp:(primaries),(transfer),(matrix coeff),(full range) or as an ICC profile. If omitted, sRGB is assumed. The resulting images from the model should either be tagged with this color space, or color matched to the color space specified by the file format.
