In `@apps/server/src/sourceControl/GiteaApi.ts`:
- Line 67: Update the Gitea base-URL validation around the protocol allowlist to
prevent cleartext token transmission: reject http: URLs for non-loopback hosts,
while permitting loopback HTTP URLs, or emit an equivalent startup warning
documenting the exposure when such a URL is configured with a token.
- Around line 175-197: In the non-2xx response branch of the Gitea API request
flow, cancel response.stream before yielding the GiteaApiError. Ensure
cancellation occurs for every error response, including failures while
processing the error, while preserving the existing error classification and
details.

T3 needs a native authenticated transport for self-hosted Gitea. Add server-side web-root/token configuration, account probing, typed errors, bounded responses, rate-limit timing, and same-origin API paths. Fetch redirects are disabled so writes and credentials cannot be replayed outside the configured API root; successful no-content responses are accepted.
Validation: 14 focused transport tests, including the production Fetch redirect setting and HTTP 204 deletion responses; server typecheck. Verified authenticated read requests against the designated Gitea 1.27.3 server. This is the foundation of the native Gitea stack; provider discovery is wired by the next PR.
Final stack validation at
256fd6fe5: 228 focused tests passed, followed by 61 API/workflow cases and the final team-recovery regression; server typecheck and targeted lint passed. The live settle-on-merge E2E previously passed with fixture cleanup. Companion Gitea backend and focused integration tests passed, including native revert across all five merge styles.Implementation: Codex (GPT-6). Sensitive review: GPT-6 Astra. Design review: Claude Fable 5.1 via Claude Code CLI.
