Summary
QUOTEblockquote typeSOURCEandSRCattribution markersBasic syntax
[!SRC]is accepted as a case-insensitive shorthand for[!SOURCE].Preserving source footnotes
The local labels
4and17render unchanged inside the quotation and do not consume numbers from the document's ordinary sequential footnotes. Definitions outside the quotation retain the existing document-footnote behavior. Why
Ordinary blockquotes do not distinguish quoted text, preserved source notes, and attribution. This syntax keeps those parts explicit in Markdown while producing a continuous professional quotation treatment in the PDF.
