I get a similar error "SyntaxError: Unexpected token", on Debian 13 on a Raspberry Pi 5:
raziel@photoframe:~ $ openframe
/home/raziel/.nvm/versions/node/v6.9.5/lib/node_modules/openframe/node_modules/tough-cookie/dist/index.cjs:71

It disappeared after downgrading tough-cookie:
cd /home/raziel/.nvm/versions/node/v6.9.5/lib/node_modules/openframe/
npm uninstall tough-cookie
npm install tough-cookie@4.0.0
But then I get a "ERROR: The server is not available." (#93)

anyone have a package-lock file they could provide to ensure I get the correct versions of the various dependencies?
