Build fish passage connectivity literature RAG store #2

Open

Description

@NewGraphEnvironment

Build literature review RAG store

Set up a ragnar search store with key fish passage and connectivity references for informing link's scoring methodology and documentation.

Focus areas

  • Pacific Northwest — culvert passage studies, species-specific swimming performance, flow-adjusted passability
  • New Zealand — extensive culvert passage research program, severity-based assessment frameworks
  • Europe — Water Framework Directive connectivity assessment, barrier prioritization methodologies
  • Canada — PSCIS methodology references, provincial assessment standards, species recovery context

Key topics to cover

  • Swimming performance by species and life stage (burst speed, sustained speed, endurance)
  • Flow-adjusted passage models (how discharge affects passability)
  • Culvert hydraulics at fish passage (outlet drop, velocity, depth requirements)
  • Barrier prioritization frameworks (upstream habitat value × barrier severity)
  • Connectivity indices and metrics
  • Cost-effectiveness of remediation approaches

Setup

Use the /lit-search skill pattern:

  1. Collect references in the shared Zotero group library
  2. Build ragnar DuckDB store from attached PDFs
  3. Query during development to ground scoring thresholds in literature

Store location

data/rag/fish_passage_connectivity.duckdb
