EnableDrDc makes Chromium's GPU process die as soon as content uploads video frames (gifs, streams), after which Chromium silently falls back to software rendering. It is an Android/ChromeOS feature with no confirmed desktop benefit, added to this preset experimentally in 2021. Reported on two vendors and two OSes (AMD/Mesa on Linux/Wayland, AMD and NVIDIA on Windows/D3D11), so drop it outright rather than gating it by platform. The rest of the preset is unchanged. Fixes #254.
EnableDrDcmakes Chromium's GPU process die as soon as content uploads video frames (gifs, streams), after which Chromium silently falls back to software rendering — hence Discord "crashing on gifs" and staying laggy. It's an Android/ChromeOS feature: added to this preset in 2021 as an experimental extra ("not known / tested benefit"), and upstream Chromium keeps it off by default outside Android.
Reported on two vendors and two OSes (AMD/Mesa on Linux/Wayland, AMD and NVIDIA on Windows/D3D11), so dropping it outright is better than a platform check that would leave Windows broken. The rest of the preset is unchanged and
customFlagsstill work.Verified on Discord stable 1.0.161 / Electron 43 / Chromium 150, KDE Wayland, Intel UHD 730 + RTX 2070: with the flag the GPU process dies (exit 133); without it, 0/3 crashes vs 3/3 with identical flags otherwise.
