Thanks @zfoong! I'll keep an eye out for the V1.4.4 dev cycle — happy to rebase the skill or adjust it if the skills format changes in the meantime. Looking forward to the review. |

What
you-searchskill: web search through You.com's hosted MCP endpointtavily-searchlayout —SKILL.md+scripts/search.mjs(Node ≥18, global fetch, zero npm dependencies)Why
The catalog already covers several web-search providers (brave, tavily, duckduckgo, baidu). You.com's free MCP profile has the same zero-setup property that makes the DuckDuckGo skill handy — no API key, no signup — so it slots in as another opt-in option for live-information queries. Setting
YDC_API_KEYswitches the same script to the authenticated endpoint (https://api.you.com/mcp) for the full toolset, with no other usage changes. How to test
Validation I ran:
SkillLoaderfilesystem discovery —skills/you-search/SKILL.mdfrontmatter parses (name: you-search,user-invocable: true), 198 skills discovered, no registry files changedpython -m compileall -q app agent_core agents decorators skills— clean (no.pyfiles added)ruff check .andruff format --check .— clean## Sourcesformat the tavily script uses;-nclamps to 20; no-args prints usage and exits 2YDC_API_KEYsurfaces a clean one-line error (server 401 carried through the MCP result), no stack traceNotes
initialize→notifications/initialized→tools/call you-search), withmcp-session-idpassthrough and both plain-JSON and SSE response parsingHappy to adjust the shape (e.g.
allowed-toolsfrontmatter or different output format) if you'd prefer a different convention.
