Review Change Stack

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The PR adds expanded multilingual lesson data, replaces the Learn tab with a progress dashboard, and replaces the lesson placeholder with an audio lesson experience. The Continue action now opens the Learn tab and records the renamed analytics event.

Changes

Lesson experience

Layer / File(s) Summary
Lesson catalog and content
types/learning.ts, data/lessons.ts, data/units.ts
Lesson now supports optional images. A factory generates standardized lesson content. The catalog adds 20 lessons and expands four language units.
Learn dashboard and navigation
app/(tabs)/learn/index.tsx, app/(tabs)/index.tsx
The Learn tab loads user and language state, redirects incomplete setup, displays lesson progress and statuses, and navigates to the general Learn route from Continue.
Audio lesson experience
app/(tabs)/learn/[id].tsx
The lesson route resolves lesson data, renders teacher content and feedback, provides audio controls, and opens lesson details in a modal.

Estimated code review effort: 4 (Complex) | ~45 minutes

Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to 2a1c8

The PR adds learning screens, but currently shows incorrect progress and lesson access, leaves core audio and feedback actions nonfunctional, and includes corrupted lesson text. These user-visible correctness issues should be fixed before merging.

Use NativeWind content-container styling if the installed version supports it.

These route screens use inline contentContainerStyle for layout spacing. Replace it with the installed NativeWind content-container class API when available. Do not upgrade NativeWind to make this change.

  • app/(tabs)/learn/index.tsx#L105-L108: Move the bottom padding to NativeWind content-container styling.
  • app/(tabs)/learn/[id].tsx#L67-L70: Move the bottom padding to NativeWind content-container styling.

As per coding guidelines: “Use NativeWind tailwindcss classes for styling strictly.”

Implement the advertised audio lesson actions.

The replay control has no handler. The microphone only changes a label. The Subtitles control opens lesson details. Feedback is always positive without learner input. This screen presents an audio lesson that does not perform its named actions.

Derive and enforce lesson state from persisted progress.

The dashboard always marks the first two lessons complete and the third lesson in progress. It also opens cards that display a lock icon. New learners therefore see false progress and can open locked lessons.

  • app/(tabs)/learn/index.tsx#L60-L61: Derive the active lesson from persisted per-lesson progress instead of the fixed index.

Centralize the lesson image contract.

Lesson.imageUrl stores direct URLs, and the lesson data and dashboard add more direct URLs. This bypasses the app image registry and makes lesson imagery depend on network access.
